The two-day sale, entitled “Historical Americana and African American History,” will take place April 25th and 26th, 2025. On April 26th, one of the rarest Civil War artifacts ever made available for public acquisition will be sold, the regimental battle flag of the 11th Virginia Infantry, captured during Pickett’s Charge at the Battle of Gettysburg (lot 497).

Last Spring, Fleischer’s Auctions was honored to facilitate the record-breaking sale of Civil General William Tecumseh Sherman’s sword, library, and effects. On April 25th, General Sherman will be returning to the auction block in the form of a historic bust, sculpted by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Featured as Lot 215 in day one of Fleischer’s Auctions’ two-day spring premier auction, “Historical Americana and African American History,” the original bust is consigned directly by General Sherman’s descendants and has never before been offered to the public.
